Some New Features in LevelMap

The LevelMap Level Generator Library has been updated with some new features! After experience with Star Cadre: Combat Class and The Chambers Beneath, I decided that some map generation features I'd added to the games would be used commonly enough that they ought to be part of the library itself. I also took a longsighted view and added some new functionality from Star Cadre: Team Command into the library for future use too. The improvements to the library are:
1. A new function will attempt to add an entrance somewhere random in one side of the map, as seen in the Star Cadre: Combat Class. The developer can specify which side of the map the entrance is on, or just use a random number for any side.
2. The map can now be generated without doors, as seen in some dungeon levels in The Chambers Beneath. Previously doors were compulsory, and had to be removed by the game after map generation if unwanted.
3. The map generator can fill in some corners of chambers to give the area a more natural feel, like the caves and forests in Star Cadre: Team Command.
4. The map generator is now flexible about which textures connect together, again a feature added for Star Cadre: Team Command. In some areas like the forest planet, the voids are connected to look like rock formations. In others like the industrial complex they're not, giving the repeated strut pattern. Walls and doors will still connect together if they're both set as connected textures.
5. Bug fixes.
LevelMap Level Generator Library is a library for generating data for small levels for roguelikes and squad combat games. While it doesn't handle graphics directly, it does generate the data for quickly drawing connected textures. So far it has been used in the games Star Cadre: Combat Class, Star Cadre: Team Command, and The Chambers Beneath. You can download it from its web page.
